HELP THE HEROES INITIATIVE

Maywood School District

Help The Heroes Initiative

The Maywood School District would like to help a special group of HEROES.  Now more than ever our doctors, nurses and all those in some way working in our hospitals, caring for those who have been exposed to this virus, need our help.   A national shortage of masks, gowns, goggles, and other personal protective equipment is one of the biggest issues right now for hospitals and healthcare workers. Therefore, if our District can help in any way then let’s do it. If you or those you know have extra supplies of unused personal protective equipment, we ask that you consider donating them to the Maywood School District’s HELP THE HEROES Initiative.  Donations will help our physicians, nurses, and other providers remain healthy, and ready and able to care for their patients.  We will donate any and all supplies to our neighbor, Hackensack University Medical Center.

This includes the following:

  • N95 masks
  • Surgical masks
  • Face shields or goggles
  • Fluid resistant isolation gowns
  • Non-latex (nitrile) gloves

The Drop-Off Site will open on Monday, March 23rd and we will collect for as long as necessary. Donations may be dropped off Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.  The drop off site will be in the Maywood Avenue School parking lot by the stairs leading down to the backfield.  All items collected each day will be placed in the school by 5 pm and delivered accordingly.
